Ruby Leftstep

In late 2024, I had the opportunity to photograph and film one of my favorite local bands, Ruby Leftstep. I wanted to capture the band’s vibrant, homegrown spirit and playful energy perfectly.

During our shoots, I experimented with different angles and compositions. I wanted to portray not just how their music sounded, but also the band's connection with their audience and their relationship with the small-town lifestyle most of us Connecticuters live.

The shoot captured not just the band, but a slice of life that feels familiar to anyone who’s grown up going to basement shows, town fairs, or just loitering in parking lots after dark. These are a few photos from the shoot.
